Adopt a Block Program
Adopting a section or block
is a relatively easy way to donate time. You are not restricted to a committed time. You set that commitment! Whether
you can come out to the cemetery once a week or once a month, your presence allows for an extra set of eyes and
ears to what is going on at Evergreen Cemetery.
1. We are asking that a volunteer come out and pick up any trash or branches that may have
accumulated in the area. This is a simple fix.
2. We are asking, if one is capable, that you consider weeding and clipping around the monuments and
family plots. Virginia Creeper ivy have taken over many areas and should be removed. CAUTION:
do not allow metal to scrape against the stones. This will cause harm. Also be aware that black widow spiders and
recluse spiders hide in the grass and foliage. Always wear gloves.
3. We are asking those that adopt a section to photograph the stones in that section and provide
copies on a DVD or CD to the Evergreen Cemetery Benevolent Society.
4. Notify the Evergreen Cemetery Benevolent Society of issues involving broken stones, decaying
stones, crumbling coping walls, or issues involving any mausoleum that may be noticed in your section.
Do not attempt to repair any of the above on your own and without training. You can be held
liable!
