Annual Murder Mystery Dinner
The time is 1912 and the Titanic has sailed. The most luxurious ship ever to sail the ocean and unsinkable! News reaches our shores of the sad news. The unsinable ship has gone down and taken the majority of her passengers.
The RMS Evergreen is now the grandest ship afloat. It sails at the Penrose Library, Carnegie room in the archives section on April 26th, 2008 at 6pm. We are hoping to have 110 passengers aboard for a fun filled night of Edwardian costuming, dinner, and of course...a murder.
This is a night of "Who Dunnit" as we gather to figure out how it was done and who did it. Since seating is limited, we will be taking first come, first serve for paid reservations for the evening.
As always we encourage all our participants to join in with us and dress up, but it is not a requirement. We, the Evergreen Cemetery Benevolent Society, are a 501(c)(3) organization. The funds go towards projects, expenses, and training.
Place: 20 N. Cascade Ave., Colo. Spr., Co 80903
Time: 6pm to 8pm
Cost: $40 per person/ $70. per couple

Memorial Day Event
On May 26th, 2008 at 1pm, we will again get together at the Memorial Chapel at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock. Blvd., Colo. Spr., Co 80905 to honor our veterans, past and present.
We will have a formal performance by the Buffalo Soldiers on horseback. We will have re enactors representing soldiers from the Civil War to hopefully the present. We will also have a balloon release and a performance by bagpipers just before the release. As last year, we ask that if you know of someone serving or has served in the military, that you write their name on the balloon.
Last years event brought almost 300 people together. We hope you can join us and have refreshments afterwards. The event is free

This years event was a huge success. I hope many of you were able to attend. The Patriot Riders, Buffalo Soldiers, re enactors representing all participants of world wars and the civil war, bagpipers, and of course the Evergreen Cemetery Benevolent Society were in attendance. The event officially started at 1pm on Memorial Day but was already in full swing by 10am. We want to thank everyone who attended. We estimate between 400 to 500 people attended.

Balloons were handed out for the second year so visitors could offer a small prayer of commemoration for a family member that had passed before them

The well known Patriot Riders participated in our celebration and lined the entrance. They were shoulder to shoulder with other re enactors. The Buffalo Soldiers rode at the center, representing transitioning present to past as they rode on horseback
